Three new models from Sony Ericsson - a slider (C903), a candy bar (C901), and a clamshell (T707) - have recently been released available to the Malaysian market. Although these phones aren’t exactly new per se (some markets have received already these phones as early as March this year), these three phones are a welcome addition to Sony Ericsson’s current offering.
The first phone of the trio, the C903 Cyber-Shot (RRP RM1499), may only carry a 5MP sensor but that doesn’t mean that the slider comes light on features. Loaded with Face Detection, Smile Shutter and Best Pic, these technologies ensure that the C903 is always ready to capture great pictures at the click of a button. From the back, the neat sliding lens cover may fool your into thinking that the C905 is a full fledged digital camera, but flip it around and you’ll find an auto-rotating 2.4” display, a TV-out jack and aGPS connectivity to top off the package
The second new model, the C901 Cyber-Shot (RRP RM1199), is almost identical to the C903 except that it comes with a smaller screen at 2.2” and is molded into the candy bar form factor. Both Cyber-shot phones come with built-in Xenon flashes and are available in a range of colors.
The last phone of the bunch, the T707 (RRP RM849), may come from a mid ranged series but that doesn’t mean that it lacks aesthetic charm. In fact, the T707 is targeted at the style-conscious, fashion-savvy consumer and is available in three interestingly named color hues - Mysterious Black, Spring Rose, and Lucid Blue. A clamshell phone at heart, the T707 comes with an innovative monochrome OLED screen on the outside that lights up to reveal new messages and incoming calls when the clamshell is closed. There’s even talk of gesture controls on the T707, but until we get our hands on a unit for ourselves, your guess on how it works is as good as ours.
